Australia’s native bees
Australia has around 2000 species of native bees. Many are solitary, building nests in the ground or in small gaps between stones or wood. Native bees can be distinctive, such as the blue-banded bee and the teddy-bear bee; others are fairly inconspicuous, such as the social stingless bee.
